Managing translations without the help of Weblate

Extract translations from the source code

Only if you need to extract your new translations locally on your computer:

$ poetry run pybabel extract -F mosp/translations/babel.cfg -k lazy_gettext -o mosp/translations/messages.pot mosp/

Edit a translation file

$ poedit mosp/translations/fr/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po

Of course, you can use Weblate Web interface.

Compile translations

If you update the source code of a running instance of MOSP you will need to re-compile mo files to po files:

$ poetry run pybabel compile -d mosp/translations

The auto-update script of MOSP is taking care of this.
